Another Marmalade Boy fabric. This one was found for really cheap on Yahoo Auctions. Again, the big print is a huge issue for quilting.

Marmalade Boy fabric. Found this randomly in the clearance page of some random Rakuten shop. Really cheap too. Prints are a bit large though.

Rayearth fabric. This one remains one of my favorite finds. The color combo is bold and perfect, and it uses great illustrations. This was also in a random clearance page of a Rakuten store.

Mamegoma fabric. Mamegoma is a seal. Many years ago, there was a popular seal character named Goma-chan and somehow despite that goma is better known as “sesame”, it seems to be forever associated with seals. Not complaining though, as Goma-chan is pretty cute.

Virtua Fighter anime fabric. My husband accidentally came upon this while searching for some other VF items. It was cheap off an auction site (1 yen plus shipping), but unfortunately reaks of cigarette smoke. Hopefully some Febreeze will help…

Richard Scarry characters. When I started my character quilt, my husband and I had expressed on multiple occasions how much we’d love to include characters from Richard Scarry’s books. However, we couldn’t find the print. I managed to finally locate one from an auction seller in Okinawa and paid high shipping costs just so we can incorporate this part of our childhood into the quilt. I was expecting this to be a cheap US print, but it is actually a sturdy Japan Oxford. My one complaint? While my husband’s favorite cat characters are included, my favorite worm character was excluded. Still, this sort of find is extremely exciting.

Tokyo Mewmew. Didn’t watch this show, but always loved the costumes.

Doremi. While I never really watched the show, I always thought the characters were extremely cute.

Prettycure All Stars. I have no fondness for Precure, but this was pretty cute and has many characters on it.

Moomin. Moomin, a famous Scandinavian book series turned into kids shows and cartoons, has a huge following in Japan. So much that the fabric goes for ridiculous prices on auction. I got this package at a fairly reasonable price considering, but it took an insane bid war to ensure that I would win this. 3.5 meters of Moomin. I love this design and can’t wait to use it.
